Within the StaySafe app, you can set off different kinds of alerts. These alerts will give your responders information about your situation when the alert is triggered.

Some alerts are actively triggered by yourself, like Panic Alerts or the Duress PIN, where you have to take a specific action to set them off. Others are triggered by inactivity, such as a Missed a Check-in or Not Moving Your Phone for a set period of time.

Some alerts are available by default within the app, others require you to set them up. Please ensure that the features you require are active before running a session.

You can set off a Panic Alert at any time in the app in a variety of ways. Find out the Different Ways to Panic.

Once you raise a Panic Alert, your location will begin actively broadcasting from the app. Your responder will be notified by either email, text, or phone call.

They will then follow your organisations escalation policies to find out what is going on and if you need assistance. They will attempt to contact you, usually a phone call, and if they can’t reach you or you need assistance, they will send someone to help and if appropriate, contact emergency services.

You can setup a Duress PIN in your app, but it will not be automatically active, until you set it up.

Once setup, every time you enter your PIN, you will have the option to enter your Safe PIN (to cancel an alert) or enter your Duress PIN, to inform your responder that you have had to cancel the alert under duress.

If somebody is telling you to cancel your Panic Alert but you do not feel safe, you can enter your Duress PIN. This will make it look like you have cancelled the alert and closed the app, while keeping the Panic Alert going in the background. This lets your responders know that you still require assistance and that you are under duress.

If you have activated Fall Detection within your app, or if you use a V.BTTN with your StaySafe app, you can set up fall detection. This determines if you have fallen or received an impact, and notify your responders.

NOTE: Fall Detection must be enabled by your organisation, if you do not have it available, ask your admin to contact us so that we can do so.

This is an optional setting that you can activate within your app.

Once activated, if your phone does not move for a set period of time (between 5 and 15 minutes) then your phone will send an alert.

This is best used if you are about to do something that could potentially be dangerous, while you are working alone, such as walking back to the car, late at night or if you are working in a loft, and worried about falling through a ceiling. Even if you are unable to call for help, the alert will be set off after a short period of non-movement by your phone.

When you activate Driving Mode, your responders can be notified. While Driving Mode is active, you will not receive any alerts from the app, so you will not be distracted from the road.

NOTE: Driving Mode must be enabled by your organisation, if you do not have it available, ask your admin to contact us so that we can do so.

Session Expired

This alert is activated when your session expires, but hasn't been ended or extended.

To cancel this alert, select ‘end session' if your session is finished, or 'extend session' if you need more time, and enter your Safe PIN.

Missed Check-in

This occurs when you fail to check-in on time. You can avoid this by tapping the check-in button when you receive a check-in notification. If you have missed a check-in, you can cancel the alert by tapping the 'check-in' button on your homepage.

If your phone battery goes below 5%, you and your monitor will be notified, this is to reduce false alarms if your battery runs out.
