This feature is available on iOS and Android version 1.7 and above. Some organisations do not allow their users to use this setting. If you can't see it, please ask your organisation admin to permit you to change this setting in the app.

While you are in a session, the StaySafe app can monitor the motion of your phone for events that could indicate a fall and alert your responders of this. The effectiveness of this will depend on the placement of the device on your body, your body type, and the device itself.

Once triggered, the app will notify you that it has detected a fall, and give you the option to cancel the alert before your responders are notified.

NOTE: The app cannot detect all falls, so when possible, fall detection should be used in conjunction with Non-Movement Alerts.

Setting up Fall Detection

Go to Settings

Select the Settings section with a gear in the centre of your app's homepage.

Go to Fall Detection

Once on your Settings page, select Fall Detection

Toggle Fall Detection on

Toggle the slider next to Fall Detection so that it is to the right and highlighted in orange.

You can then use the slide on the screen to adjust the sensitivity of the fall detection. Your options are Moderate, High and Fall From Height.

You can select Moderate to detect lower impact events such as falling from a height of around 50-100cm. We recommend the Fall From Height setting if you regularly work at height, such as on ladders or scaffolding. The High impact setting offers the best general configuration.
