A Session is the term the StaySafe team chooses to determine the period during which you is about to start Lone Working, or undertake a high-risk activity.

Starting a Session in the StaySafe app is the way of letting colleagues monitor your welfare status and location during a job, and to make sure you have support in place whilst working.

Each Session will provide details such as; length of time Lone Working, Location, and additional Notes on what you will be doing.

Ask your Team or consult your Lone Working Policy if you have questions about when you should start a Session, and what your Organisation considers Lone Working to be.

During your session, you can trigger several alarms: Panic, Duress, Non-Movement, Session Expiry, or Missed Check-in.

Why does a Session work this way?

There are several reasons we have come up with the "Session".

  • To protect the privacy of Lone Workers when using the app, by giving employees the power to start and stop their activities through the App.

  • To make StaySafe more practical, many people work alone at irregular intervals.

  • Without a Session, you would not be able to share what you are working on when alone, which you enter through the Notes.
