This article will provide a guide for which permissions are necessary for StaySafe to work effectively.
The App will need access to your Location Data, Telephone and SMS.
Location Data is necessary for updating your location on the StaySafe Hub. This will help the Administrators locate the Users in trouble and provide assistance quickly.
To help you in a Low Signal area and trigger an Alert, the app needs permission to send SMS and establish a Phone Call to Users in an emergency, such as when the Panic Alarm has been triggered.
Setting Permissions
When you first login to your StaySafe app, it will ask you for Permissions for your Location Data, to send SMS and to make Phone Calls.
Make sure to click Allow While Using App for StaySafe to share your Location with the StaySafe Hub in case of an emergency.
By allowing StaySafe to Manage Phone Calls where a Panic Alert has been raised, the app will be able to automatically contact a Responder to assist with the emergency. This will only be requested if your Organisation has Two-Way Audio enabled.
Enabling SMS services will allow you to prevent false Alarms from going off, and enable you to raise Alarms in areas of poor connectivity. You will only be asked to enable this if Low-Signal Mode is enabled in your Organisation.
Permission should be given to both requests for the app to work correctly.
Checking your Permissions are Correct
If you deny any of these Permissions, the functionality that depends upon it will not be available.
To change these settings after your first login, go to your device Settings, then click on App Permissions and head to StaySafe. You can change the Permissions by clicking on each icon and selecting accordingly.
