StaySafe now allows you to trigger a Panic Alert discreetly from anywhere on your phone.

We can integrate StaySafe with Siri and the shortcut's app which allows you to trigger a Panic Alert in a number of new ways. This streamlines the process and makes it easier for you to raise the alarm.

We have done this by integrating StaySafe with the Apple ‘Shortcuts’ app, giving you a quick way to get things done with a tap or using Siri.

This is only available for iOS devices running iOS 13 or later. Earlier devices will not be able to utilize this functionality. Siri shortcuts are incompatible with iOS 15.0, please ensure you have upgraded to iOS 15.1 and above.

There are 4 new ways to raise the alarm:

  1. Triple Tap: Discreetly trigger a Panic Alert by tapping the back of your phone three times. This will allow you to raise the alarm more easily when you do not want to be detected.

  2. Home Screen: Create a shortcut on your home screen so that you can trigger alarms without opening the StaySafe app. All you need to do is tap the shortcut, and a Panic Alert will be activated.

  3. Floating Widget: Have a button constantly available on your screen to trigger an alarm, regardless of which app you are using.

  4. Voice Activated Alerts: You can raise the alarm by speaking to Siri, in the event you are unable to reach your phone. This is dependant upon your Siri & Search settings. Once setup, just say ‘Hey Siri, Panic', or hold the lock (or Home) button until Siri activates and say 'Panic' to activate an alert.

Getting Set Up

This feature is available on the StaySafe app version 1.6 and above.

To set these up, you need to add StaySafe to your Shortcuts app. This is included on most iPhones, if it isn't, you can download it in the app store here.

Add the shortcut to your app, using this link.

Once initiated, this will allow you to add a shortcut on your home screen, enable Siri voice activation, and configure the remaining methods.

Add Shortcut

Select "+ Add Shortcut"

Select "Panic"

Go to the "My Shortcuts' tab and tap on the "Panic" button.

Allow Access

Allow the Shortcuts app to access StaySafe.

This will then trigger a panic as a test. It will redirect you to the StaySafe app, where you can cancel the alarm.

If this doesn't work for you, follow the instructions in Setting up the Shortcuts App, to configure it manually.
