Assistive Touch provides a floating menu option that is always present, overlaying the Home Screen along with any app that might be in use on your device. These are called widgets, and this article will show you how to add StaySafe to it.

There are many ways Assistive Touch can be used, and this is how we recommend that you configure it with StaySafe.

To enable this, you first need to have completed the steps in Setting up the Shortcuts App.

Navigate to Accessibility

From your Settings menu, locate and tap on 'Accessibility'.

Select Touch

From the Accessibility menu, locate and tap on 'Touch'.

Select Assistive Touch

From your Touch menu, locate and tap on 'AssistiveTouch'.

Enable Assistive Touch

Tap on the toggle switch on the right and side of the screen to enable the Assistive Touch feature.

Add StaySafe to the Assistive Touch menu

Tap on ‘Customize Top Level Menu’ to enter the Assistive Touch menu configuration.

Add a new menu option

Increase the number of menu options to allow the addition of a StaySafe menu item.

Add StaySafe to the menu

A space for a new menu item will be visible with a ‘plus’ symbol.

Tap on the ‘plus’ symbol.

Select Panic

A list of options will present.

Locate and tap to select the Panic action from within the ‘Shortcuts' section of the list.

Confirm your selection by selecting 'Done’ at the top of the screen.

Select the Assistive Touch menu

Tap on the ‘Assistive Touch’ menu button.

Test Assistive Touch Panic

Tap on the ‘Panic’ menu item to open the StaySafe app and trigger a Panic.

What's next?

Now you have configured your settings app, you can set up triple tap panic and add in a home screen shortcut and voice activated alerts.
