You can now create a shortcut on your home screen so that you can trigger alarms without opening StaySafe. You can also raise the alarm just by speaking to Siri, in the event you are unable to reach your phone.

To enable this, you first need to have completed the steps in Setting up the Shortcuts App.

Home Screen Shortcut

Create a shortcut on your home screen so that you can trigger alarms without opening StaySafe.

All you will need to do is tap on the shortcut, and the Panic will be activated

Follow the steps below to set this up.

Select the Shortcut

Tap on the three dots in the corner of your 'Panic' shortcut, that created in Setting up the Shortcuts App.

Go To the Shortcut's Settings

Tap on the settings button in the top right-hand corner of the page.

Add the shortcut to your Home Screen

Tap on ‘Add to Home Screen’.

Double-check your changes

A preview will be presented to confirm the appearance of the shortcut.

Tap ‘Add’ to confirm your changes.

Observe a confirmation

A confirmation will be presented to you confirming that the Home Screen shortcut has been created.

Tap ‘Done’ to exit the setup process.

Test the Home Screen shortcut

You will find that the shortcut is now visible on your device Home Screen.

You can test the feature by tapping on the ‘Panic’ icon.

This will open the StaySafe app and trigger a Panic.

Activating Voice Activated Alerts

Once you have added in the Shortcut, Siri will now be able to create a Panic Alert if you use a voice command. This will be dependant upon your Siri & Search settings.

Hey Siri

If ‘Listen for “Hey Siri” is enabled, you can panic simply by saying “Hey Siri … Panic”.

Power Button

If 'Press Side Button for Siri’ is enabled, you can panic by holding the button until Siri activates and then saying “Panic”. Alternatively, if you have an iPhone with a home button, press and hold it to activate Siri.

If both options are enabled, you can use either option.

What's next?

Now you have configured your settings app, you can Setup Triple Tap Panic, and Enable Floating Widgets.
