Satellite Mode allows users to access the StaySafe app even in areas with low or no signal. This feature, combined with global satellite connectivity, ensures uninterrupted app support and safety monitoring, regardless of location.

Compatibility

Satellite Mode is available for both iOS and Android devices. To utilise this feature, you need to pair your StaySafe app with a compatible Garmin device

How to Use:

As we transition from the traditional use of Garmin inReach devices with StaySafe, it's important to note that lone workers can continue to use their devices without running a session on the app. The only required change is pairing their inReach devices with the StaySafe app.

  • Automatic User Connection: inReach devices do not need to be manually added to the hub under a user. They will automatically connect to a user once paired with the app.

See below for guidance on how to pair your Garmin inReach device to the StaySafe app:

Once your device is paired:

  1. Ensure Clear Line of Sight: Before starting lone working, make sure your inReach device has a clear view of the sky.

  2. Enable Tracking: Turn on the Garmin inReach tracking feature. This will allow your location to be picked up on the StaySafe portal, and the device's IMEI will connect behind the scenes.

By following these steps, you can ensure continuous safety monitoring and support through the StaySafe app, even in remote areas.
